Sorry it has been so long! I've had a lot of life changing events this month, like being forced to quit my job. My babysitters completely quit on me after I had my one child in a preschool where she needed to be picked up by someone at 2:30pm (when I am at work). So with no one left, and the only babysitter I could find that would be home for my baby, pick up my 4 year old, and be here in time to catch my 7 year old off the bus, wanted 14.00/hr. TOO MUCH.

So now I'm home, babysitting for now and working online.

When I originally started online, I came accross A LOT of information... most of it pertaining to get paid to programs, but I never really trusted ANY of them. I know you've heard of all the scams, and not being paid, etc. So I really wanted to know that if the programs I was working on, would benefit me in the end and not end up being a scam. What did I do?

I did my research and stumbled upon Amy Bass's GPT review on how she made over 1400.00 in one month!!! I didn't believe it was true, but after reading it myself... i honestly had hope, and moreover- DETERMINATION! If she could do it, and show me how she was doing it........ then I knew I could.

So for two days now, on my free time (away from my day job, family time and anything else) I've been playing with setting up a niche store. Here's the steps I took to build it (it's not complete yet- so I won't give you the link just now).

1. I went to overture keyword tool and searched on a specific niche... for example I typed in Birth.. from that word I wrote down the top five phrases dealing with birth that people have been searching for.

2. I went to spyfu.com to see how much advertisers were paying for each of those search terms and narrowed my five keywords down to one.

3. Next I bought the domain name and since I want to spend as little money as possible.. I am going to use blogger to host it. So then I found my own template, uploaded it and played around with the coding to get it to look good.

4. I searched for affiliates and also looked at amazon associates and commission junction and found advertising.

5. Now all I need is the content!!!!

How to make your dream come true

You have to work hard to get where you want to go. Unforutnately I don't have that much time with a full time job already. What am I going to do? Work harder, spend more time writing and getting myself out there. I have a goal to meet with money, and a few ideas brewing, but ultimately I need the time.

Maybe you are asking yourself, how do you really make your dreams come true? How do you get to that passive income that everyone is raving about? Hard work. It's not goign to come easy. You have to put yourself and your work out there for people to see. Wether it's articles, MLM, GPT, etc... it doesn't just drop in your lap.

There are tools out there to help you - wether you look for them or not is up to you. Research, research, research. Then put your knowledge into action.

Make the $$$$$$$$$ come in... in fact, make the $$$$ work for you.

1. Every time you put up a new post, go to pingomatic.com and ping all the websites there so they know you have a new post.

2. Add your blog feed to myyahoo.com

3. Join different forums and add your website to your signature.

4. Visit other blogs

5. Create tags

6. Link to other blogs in your posts

7. Use technorati

8. Install an RSS button

9. Install a Digg button

Interesting research

So I am looking for a website to buy to make money off of. I'm not sure if I want a well established website or one I want to build from the ground up. So I started searching different forums for webpages for sale...

I found one I wanted that said she makes about 1800.00 a month, then on another website this same person states she makes 1450.00 from the same website. So I had to look into it, since she wants 8 grand for the site. Guess how much it was worth? 450.00.

Just goes to show you that you need to do your research! Especially if flipping websites or just buying websites is something you are interested in.

Has anyone checked out Yuwie? It's almost like myspace... but just starting out ANNNNND it pays you for participation!!! You can also use affiliate links on Yuwie as well as build back links to your own blog. Not to metention it is a social networking website.

What is a niche website?

So... through much interest and searching I've finally decided to post on what a niche website is and how it makes you money.

A Niche website is a site about something you enjoy doing, can easily write articles about, and will bring in a lot of traffic. When choosing your niche you want to make sure that you can gain a lot of traffic to it, so you want to use a search engine to determine how many people are searching for the topic you want to do a site on.

From there you will find a hosting site and a website builder package, you would add your conent and then ....

add the advertising on your site to make money! Lastly you will advertise to get more hits to your site.

I stumbled upon a niche site that I enjoy... take a look at mommyjobs. Okay, so it's a little bit more, but it gives you an example of what to do. So.... it's not impossible!

I was looking into flipping websites for money and thought that sounded interesting. I haven't had a whole lot of time to do the research, but I will post it here as soon as I can put it all together. I have my eye on one particular website that is not making that much money right now and I've been dreaming up ideas for it, but still haven't decided if I want to buy it- and the cost is not that big of a deal at only 200.00. I just really want to make sure I can devote the time and effort before I buy it.

I'm still writing articles for Associated Content, but it is taking them a while to publish- guess they are busy.

I joined MyLot today to promote my site and help others out there. I also checked out their blogs, and new gtp sites :) which I will post later.

I did some articles for associated content, too, but nothing has been actually posted to their webpage. I had one article accepted for payment, though.

Also I've come up with the business plan I want to pursue:

1. find a niche
2. write the articles
3. add advertising
4. promote via different methods
Then repeat!

I'll keep you updated on how it goes.

Squidoo

I decided to make a Squidoo lense, so go ahead and check it out, tell me what you think! I've been playing with it for about two days and learning what to do, etc. It's entertaining, but I haven't had time to check out anyone elses lense. Feel free to drop me a line with your lense and I'll check it out.

I did submit my blog to a few directories that I have listed on the left hand side, under mybloglog, and I've also joined a group that has a goal or earning 10 bucks a day. Hmmm wonder how that will go?

I'm still waiting on associated content to pick up my articles and also still playing around with cashcrate. I'm so addicted to them because it's easy to spend just about 15 mins a day and make 20-30 bucks at least! Can't wait for my first check to come in.

I feel like I am cramming tons of information into my head to figure out what is the best way to make money. There are sooooooooo many different options out there.

So what did I learn yesterday?

1. A Niche website is a website that covers a topic that has very little competition. Basically you write articles on a topic, upload it, add advertisitng, ebooks, adsense, etc on it, and you can make some money.

2. I didn't get that far into ebay niche websites. I know that you have to have a topic or keyword that targets something that is extremely popular on ebay in order to get a lot of listings.

3. Article blasting- actually this was quite fun to investigate. Article blasting is basically a promotional tool you want want to use in order to get more website traffic, or direct people to a particular product you are selling. I read a few posts on Earn1kadayabout the effectiveness of article blasting. Some people have made some money on it, and some not so much. It takes a lot of time and effort to write 10-15 articles on a website, even if you are just spinning them and sending them out to different search engines. I'm not sure this is something I would want to try due to the time it would take.

I did, however, find something I REALLY REALLY want to try! I think my first real project is going to be an ebook.. and hopefully I can spin some money off my ebook into other ideas :) yay me.

As for now, I am still working on .CashCrate and making great money.

Off to do more research.

Yes, I took the leap and joined MyBlogLog, and I had so much fun last night reading everyone's blog! Right away I was welcomed by other members and was able to explore many ideas from other blogs! Wow, my head was spinning for a moment! The trick is to visit other peoples blogs and join their communities, and then they come and visit your site.

Also, I wrote a few articles for associated content, that have yet to be published. When they are, I will put up a link for you to view and see what I'm doing.

Today I'm going to look at finding out more information on affiliate programs, niche websites, ebay niche and possibly article blasting... hmmm... they all sound interesting. Will let you know what I find out.

I am so completely new at everything I am doing and I am learning as I go along. I signed up for another affiliate program called Linkshare...

What is it?

From their website : LinkShare is a network comprised of merchants who offer affiliate programs and affiliates who participate in these programs. With LinkShare, you may participate in multiple affiliate programs through one single interface with one single username and password.

How does it work?

From their website: LinkShare offers affiliates the opportunity to earn money by referring other affiliates to the LinkShare Network. Earn $1.50 for every valid referral that registers as an affiliate with LinkShare and generates at least one click-through within 30 days of registering.

From me: I can definitely use this as I start to make niche websites (which I will cover in the next blog) for advertising because it has big name retailers like babies r us, omaha steaks, walmart, etc that can pay between 8-12 percent commission! WOW. That's awesome!. If you are working on a work at home goal, then this is definitely something that you need to check out.

Productive Second Day

Today I looked into signing up a domain name, but I'm not really sure what I want to use yet. Yes, I'm a little indecisive. I did find a good deal at 1and1 for 2.95 for an entire year! I'm sure I'll end up signing up with them just to make the website address easier to remember.

I also signed up with Instant buzz to see what kind of traffic I can pull to my website. Although I'm still experiementing with that- I will keep you updated on the progress.

Cash Crate

Today will be the first day of my journey into the work at home goal. I currently make around 1800.00 month at my job and I need at least that much monthly in order to make the transition from a traditional work place to my home.

The first step I did was to sign up with Cashcrate.... a wonderful place to make money! For those of you who don't know about cashcrate here is some information from their website:

How does it work?

Companies need consumers to try and review products, services, and websites and are willing to pay money to have them do soCashCrate gets paid by these advertisers for our participation and they pass 75% of that money back to us. That is how they are able to stay in business and the earnings stay sustainable.

How You Get Paid

The minimum payout is 10.00. Very easy to make within a few minutes. I can't stress how easy!!!!!

You Can Earn Good Money Without Referrals

No you don't necessarily have to have referrals to make GREAT money on CashCrate. I hate programs where you are forced into working off of referalls only.. so that's why I find this site so great. You can make money by doing free offers- cash offers- and even the daily survey they offer. Just doing those alone can bring in at the minimum of 20.00.

CashCrate Referral Program
With CashCrate you are paid for two levels of referrals- the people that sign up under you and then the people who sign up under them. When you join the bronze level is what you start off at. Bronze means that you earn 20% of what your first level referrals earn and 10% percent of the second level.

The entire referall program works like this:

Bronze - 0 Active Referrals - 20% First Level, 10% Second Level
